How We Handle Your Information

Last Updated: November 6, 2025

Look, we get it - nobody really loves reading these things. But we're pretty straightforward about how we handle your info here at the shop. We've been working on European and luxury vehicles for years, and just like we treat your car with respect, we do the same with your personal details.

When you bring your ride into our shop or reach out to us, we'll collect some basic stuff to keep track of your vehicle and make sure we can get in touch with you:

  • Contact Details: Your name, phone number, email address - the usual stuff so we can let you know when your car's ready or if we find something that needs attention.
  • Vehicle Information: Make, model, year, VIN number, mileage - everything we need to properly diagnose and work on your specific vehicle.
  • Service History: What work we've done, parts we've installed, any ongoing issues. This helps us track patterns and give you better service down the road.
  • Payment Info: Credit card details, billing addresses - though we don't actually store full card numbers ourselves. That goes through our secure payment processor.
  • Website Activity: If you're browsing our site, we might collect some technical data like IP addresses, browser types, and which pages you check out. Nothing creepy, just standard website analytics.

We're not in the business of selling your data or spamming you with junk. Here's what we actually do with your info:

  • Service Your Vehicle: Pretty obvious one - we need your details to actually work on your car and keep accurate records.
  • Communication: We'll call or email you about appointments, estimates, when work's completed, or if we spot something you should know about.
  • Payment Processing: Gotta get paid somehow, right? We use your payment info to process transactions securely.
  • Service Reminders: We might send you a heads-up when it's time for routine maintenance based on your vehicle's service schedule.
  • Improve Our Services: We look at service patterns and feedback to get better at what we do.
  • Legal Stuff: Sometimes we're required to keep records for warranty claims, regulatory compliance, or if there's ever a dispute.

We won't sell your information to third parties or use it for anything unrelated to servicing your vehicle unless you've given us the okay.

We take security seriously - same way we wouldn't leave your BMW unlocked in the parking lot, we're not gonna be careless with your personal details.

  • Our computer systems are password-protected and we limit who on the team can access sensitive customer data.
  • We use encrypted connections for online transactions and communications.
  • Physical records are kept in secure areas at our shop - not just lying around where anyone can grab 'em.
  • We work with reputable payment processors who meet industry security standards.
  • When we no longer need certain records, we dispose of them properly - shredding paper files and securely deleting digital ones.

That said, nothing's 100% foolproof. We do our best, but like with anything involving technology, there's always some level of risk. We're just being honest with you.

We're pretty selective about who gets access to your information. Here's the short list:

  • Parts Suppliers: Sometimes we need to share vehicle details with our parts distributors to get the right components for your car.
  • Payment Processors: Your payment info goes through secure third-party processors - we don't handle or store full credit card numbers ourselves.
  • Service Partners: Occasionally we might need to bring in a specialist or send work to a trusted partner shop. We'll let you know if that's happening.
  • Legal Requirements: If we're required by law or court order to provide information, we've gotta comply. Hope it never comes to that though.
  • Warranty Claims: For warranty work, we might need to share service records with manufacturers or warranty companies.

We don't sell or rent your personal information to marketers, data brokers, or anyone else looking to spam you. That's not our game.

Our website uses cookies - not the chocolate chip kind, unfortunately. These are small files that help our site work better and let us understand how people use it.

  • Essential Cookies: These keep the site functional - like remembering what's in your contact form if you navigate away and come back.
  • Analytics: We use tools like Google Analytics to see which pages people visit, how long they stay, that sort of thing. Helps us figure out what's working and what needs improvement.
  • Your Choice: Most browsers let you control or block cookies if you want. Just know that some features might not work as smoothly if you do.

We're not tracking you across the internet or building some creepy profile. It's really just basic website stuff to help us run things better.

It's your information, so you've got some say in how we handle it. Under Canadian privacy laws (specifically PIPEDA), you can:

  • Access Your Info: Want to know what we've got on file for you? Just ask. We'll show you what we're keeping.
  • Update or Correct: If something's wrong or outdated - like you got a new phone number - let us know and we'll fix it.
  • Opt Out of Marketing: Don't want service reminders or promotional emails? No problem. You can unsubscribe anytime or just tell us you're not interested.
  • Request Deletion: Want us to delete your information? We can do that for most stuff, though we might need to keep some records for legal or accounting reasons.
  • Withdraw Consent: If you've agreed to something and changed your mind, you can withdraw that consent. Just might limit what services we can provide.

To exercise any of these rights, just give us a call at (416) 555-7842 or shoot us an email at service@nevarinthspire.info. We'll get it sorted out.

We don't keep stuff forever just for the heck of it. Here's our general approach:

  • Active Customer Records: As long as you're bringing your vehicle to us, we'll keep your service history and contact details. It helps us provide better service over time.
  • Inactive Customers: If we haven't seen you in several years, we might reach out to see if you want to keep your records active. Otherwise, we'll eventually archive or delete non-essential info.
  • Financial Records: Tax and accounting regulations require us to keep financial records for at least seven years. That's just the law.
  • Warranty Documentation: We'll keep warranty-related records as long as the warranty period lasts, plus a bit longer in case of disputes.

If you specifically ask us to delete your information and there's no legal reason we need to keep it, we'll take care of that for you.

Our services are aimed at adults who own or operate vehicles. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you're a parent and think we've somehow got info about your kid, let us know and we'll delete it right away.

That said, if a teenager comes in with their parent to work on the family car, obviously we're gonna interact with them. But we're not collecting separate data on minors - everything goes through the adult account holder.

Things change - laws get updated, we might add new services, technology evolves. If we need to modify this privacy policy, we'll update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.

For minor changes, we'll just post the updated version here. If we make any significant changes to how we handle your information, we'll try to let you know more directly - probably via email or a notice when you come in for service.

It's worth checking back here once in a while, especially if you're curious about this stuff. Or just give us a call if you've got questions.

Look, if any of this is confusing or you've got concerns about how we're handling your information, just reach out. We're here to help, not hide behind legal jargon.

We'll do our best to answer your questions or address any issues. And if you're not satisfied with how we handle things, you've also got the right to file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Bottom line: We're not trying to do anything shady with your information. We collect what we need to service your vehicle properly, we keep it secure, and we don't share it unless there's a good reason. If you've got questions or concerns, we're always here to talk.
